i work for a telecommunications company and in so doing, i deal with a lot of fraud.

now, what i am about to say could come across as racist and i hope people read the whole thing to get what i am saying and know i am not racist (... to add though, i really am past caring what people think).

in the state of north carolina, you can run up your phone bill to $1000's and $1000's and by law you only have to pay basic local service to keep services on.

Fact, African American population in prison is outnumbering all others. This shows something is wrong and not that whitie is out to take down the black man, either. Something is wrong and Cosby is pointing it out and offering some advice to stop this. Most young black men I know, look up to leaders in the black community (Rappers, professional athetes) terrible examples to look at.

Fact: Most poor blacks get arrested again and again and again.....................perpetual cycle............POVERTY.

Are you reading my post? How many black men do you really know? Just out of the 40 million. Are most of them poor, or do their parents make over 100k a year?

I mentor at three inner-city High schools so I have a sizable control group to base my opinions on. I think if you read the post throughly, you will see I agree that Bill was correct!!! 100% correct. I question the premise that you pose the question upon. Was I not clear? I have taken your points and respond to each individually. I apologize if this is not understandable to you. i say this because in your response, you connect points that are irrevelant to the previous dialogue. You either do not understand or do not read the previous post. Again, I mean no disrespect to you, this is just my observation.

As for Obama
I actually liked this guy and yet I doubt he will be elected. It will have very little to do with being black, it will have to do with the Clinton.

What connection does Barak have within our dialogue? Please read the last two sentences above. If you decide to respond, connect the DOTS, not unrelated tangents.

By large, the black cominity in America has a severe attitude problem.

Again, what is this based on. Was you success in life limited because of a black man. I actually have heard this a lot. Mainly from tenents. You ~~make~~ attempt to make a point with no substance.

Ditto, it is a message board. Everyone is allowed to think differently. Although, some post can help me to clearly identify the intelligence level of a few.

Some have left the religion because of doctrine, others because they may be a loser and can not finish anything they start. Just an observation I have become aware of lately.

Go walk at night at any Detroit 'park'. If you survive the stroll I'll give you examples. By large, the black cominity in America has a severe attitude problem. Voting for Obama will not save your butt when getting mugged.

I would never vote for Obama, I am a Republican. 3rd generation. The cult leader is looking great. (Mitt Romney). I have traveled a great deal. I have visited many inner-city neighborhoods. I grew up in South LA. I have been to many black neighborhoods without fear. It is not a racial issue, but a class issue. One of money.

I am not seeing your connection to the topic and your argument. Were you attempting to follow the topic?

The black leaders have forgotten Martin Luther King, the real deal; Most of today's youth's idols are junkie and violent rappers. The erosion in black political gains can be dumped squarely on black voter apathy and self-inflicted social alienation in the name of coolness and starting each sentence with Yo!

This type of generalizing solidifies my point. Thank you.

Just curious, how many black youth do you personally know that this would apply to? I personally mentor in the inner-city. This is not the case in my opinion. Most of the black VOTE that I know.

So again, what do you validate each point of your argument with? Facts or Channel 4 news?

I agree too. I also think my point is very valid.

Again, you connect Bill and blacks not paying phone bills, as if no one of another race does this. A weak and shallow point in my opinion.

In that I gave an example of something that was intended to be a help for low income families, that has in turn become an example of abuse and by a certian part of our population in that area that is noticable.

Low income or BLACK? I thought you initially said black. I may be wrong. (if I am not, this is obviously sarcasm). As an out-of-state property owner, I can draw the same conclusions regarding the whites in Austin, Texas. Round Rock and Pflugerville to be exact. As mentioned, generalizing and stereotyping on my part would be ignorant.

Sorry, I wish I could agree with you and think I was way off, but I would then go to work tomorrow and feel like a hypocrit for not saying what really is happening. These things; programs, assistents, etc. Were not put in place to be abused!!!!!!! Abuse should be treated as illegal and not some god given right to cheat out people. I have not even begun to explain what I know about, what is happening in New Orleans.

Isn't crossing the border from Mexico illegal as well? Is it abused? ........and NO, that does NOT make it right. This issue affects YOU directly, yet NO commentary.

I think you should examine the crime of low income Blacks, Whites and Mexicans. There may be a few similarties in govermental abuse.

After marriage, in an effort to give back, I keep foster children in the Antelope Valley (in California). We were given 2 white children. The mother was our age, early 20's at the time with 8 children. Her child (girl) was allegedly molested by her crystal-meth using/selling boyfriend. At our group meetings, many care-givers had similar experiences. I did NOT form the opinion that MOST young white girls were a low-life like this pathetic mother I dealt with. Again, MOST care-givers had the same experience, but no stereo-type was formed.

By the way, this young white lady (and I use that term loosely) and a few of my white tenents in Austin, Texas did NOT pay their phone bills as well. I have documented proof of this. It was very difficult to contact them because their phones were constantly OFF. Numbers always changing. Socio-economic, not race.

Yet, I do NOT generalize all caucasians and young white females.

I, like you am NOT a racist.

You connect Cosby and his statement with your job as a telemarketer (or something similar) and black people. My point is, he is BLACK, he speaks from his personal experience. He is involved with SOLVING the problem, NOT JUST MAKING WORTHLESS COMMENTS.

I draw an analogy of how I could generalize and stereotype in the same fashion with young white females (if you read the post). I do not. It would be ignorant of me to do that.

The problem that you speak of is NOT limited to black people. Have you ever visited the Appalacian Mountains? Are you familar with the abuse that occurs there? I have trained many individuals from that part of the country, as well as the South. I could easily stereotype and generalize as well. This form of abuse may be closer linked to socio-economic factors vs. race. I do NOT see race as a factor. I do not see your connection. Your connection makes me think you may have personal issues that need resolving. This of course is JUST my opinion. No offense is intended.

As previously mentioned, as a staunch conservative, I think he his right.

Bill doesn't practice everything he preaches.

Personally, I do not think it matters. Many people are hypocrites. William H. is a multi-millionaire. He lives well. Many blacks with the problems he mentioned are poor. They are in a perpetual cycle of medicority and failure. He words of wisdom can provide direction for the blind. It can help them STOP the cycle and improve their lives. Remember the old saying of hypocrites, "Do as I say, not as I do!!!" Especially if it helps you.

Some one has to say it, and who better then Bill Cosby. Yet many in the African American community are angry he has said these things, even though statics do not lie.

The entire premise that you base this thread on is incredible!

No, I am not an angry black guy, but really, are blacks the only ones that this occurs with? Is this just your personal experience with THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of black people?

I was raised in South Los Angeles, a poor neighborhood. My father purchased in 1965 when there was no crime. He said instead of moving, you become active in your community to change it. He was a business owner and my mother was a RN. We lived VERY well. The perception is; Black, South LA, poor, poverty. That was not the case at all. I have heard many say that everyone in South LA is poor, otherwise they would move out (another weak-shallow premise). My father bragged about being the only Black Republican in the neighborhood.

The media controls the mind of many simple people (no offense to anyone), they believe what they are told. (There are WMD in dem dere hills)

Remember, all black people think OJ is innocent? Everyone that I know and associate with thought he was an murderer. I was interviewed serveral times during the trial by the news media (Crenshaw Mall in black LA). They NEVER played anyone that said he was guilty. I personally witnessed this SEVERAL times. They only played people on TV that said he is innocent. 40 million black people in America do NOT think alike. Some even pay their phone bills.

Lastly, I agree with Cosby 100%. He is totally on point in my opinion. I volunteer in the inner-city schools as a mentor now. My company has established scholarships at several HSs. I live in a great 700k house and encourage my wife as a JW (makes the children great speakers).. I apologize if I am offensive to you, that is not my objective. As a black man with a great career, I am not angy at all (as some may assume), but saddend by the stereotyping from the actions of a few.
